Usheer Kanjee, PhD

Assistant Professor

Usheer obtained his PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Toronto studying the acid stress response in E. coli in the laboratory of Prof. Walid A. Houry. He then moved to the laboratory of Prof. Manoj T. Duraisingh at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health where he studied ligand/receptor interactions in malaria parasites and helped to develop red blood cell genetic approaches to identifying host determinants of parasite invasion.

Fun fact: I grew up in Zimbabwe!

Alice Tomlinson, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Earned her PhD at Université Paris Cité in France, where she worked on the characterization of interactions between immune cells and Plasmodium falciparum–infected erythrocytes in the laboratory of Dr. Benoit Gamain.

Fun fact – I’ve been to the eastern-most tip of Australia.

Ellie McArthur, BA

Research Technician II

Graduated from Amherst College in 2025 with a BA in Biochemistry & Biophysics. Wrote an undergraduate honors thesis studying the role of Gasdermin-E in pyroptosis in the Dovey Lab at Amherst.
